The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) is a 2-year professional degree program that prepares students to become qualified teachers in schools. It is essential for those who wish to pursue a teaching career at the primary, secondary, or higher secondary levels. Students from both Science and Arts backgrounds can pursue B.Ed. and become eligible to teach specific school subjects.
For Arts Graduates (B.A.):-
If you have completed your B.A. in any of the following subjects, you can apply for the B.Ed. program:
- Odia
- English
- History
- Indian Economy
- Hindi
- Sanskrit
- Business Economy
- Communicative English
- Indian Polity
For Science Graduates (B.Sc.):
Science students with subjects like Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics can also pursue B.Ed.
After completion, they are eligible to work as TGT (Trained Graduate Teachers) in the following streams:
PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics)
CBZ (Chemistry, Botany, Zoology)
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for B.Ed, candidates must have completed:
✅ Any Graduation (BA / B.Sc / B.Com / BBA / BCA / B.Tech)
✅ Minimum Marks: 50% in graduation
✅ Minimum Marks: 45% in graduation (Only for SC/ST/OBC/SEBC candidates)
✅ Age: Minimum 20 years (No upper age limit)
